Ned Scott was on hand for the still work on the John Ford directed film The Long Voyage Home, 1941. As a first in the film industry, producer Walter Wanger hired 9 renowned American artiists to depict scenes from the film production as they were being filmed. Raphael Soyer chose to paint this scene showing Barry Fitzgerald as "Cocky", the S.S. Glencairn's steward , having a chat with the "B" girls at one of the many pubs along the waterfront. Ned Scott shot the paintings in 8 x 10 kodachrome slides. This image Scott made into a tricolor carbon print.
