Cornell Wilde poses, on set and in costume, for his role as Frydryk Chopin, famed Poish born pianist and composer. During the course of the film, Chopin moves from Poland to Paris, guided by his mentor, Porfessor Josef Elsner, played by Paul Muni. In Paris Chopin hits his stride as a professional, and makes his mark upon the world.
