A portrait of Don Ameche to upport his role as a failed film director, Don Gayle, in the 1948 Columbia Studios film "Slightly French". Gayle tries to regain his prominence in the film industry by hooking up with an attractive and clever Irish girl he meets at a local carnival, Mary O'Leary, played by Dorothy Lamour. Things become hopelessly tangled as the pair pass O'Leary off as a French heiress. Nonetheless Gayle is hired again before the charade breaks down. Gene Autry

This image supported Gene's role as a ranch forman who rescues a wild horse, a strawberry roan, that has thrown and injured the son of the ranch owner. Autry plays himself in the film, singing as always, and commits to training the wild horse on his own in the hope that the injured young man might overcome the disability he suffered due to the horse accident.
