John Ford

Director John Ford is recognized by film critics and moviegoers everywhere as the force behind the creation of the Western drama.  It was a key and fundamental shift in Hollywood filmmaking. To highlight plot drama and tension, Ford chose the dramatic landscapes of Monument Valley to serve as settings for many of his Western classics.
