| Redes Film Portraits by photographer Ned Scott were outstanding not only because of their quality but also due to the fact that none of the actors in Redes film were professionals. These men were selected for the film from the ranks of fishermen then residing in Alvarado, the setting for the film. Film director Fred Zinnemann required that takes of various scenes in which actors’ faces were shown be conducted early in the day or later in the afternoon because the shadows at midday were so intense. Hence, many of these portraits were taken off set, not during the filming process. |
